From busy bees to beekeepers: leading in the age of AI

For decades, organisations structured reporting lines and departments around tasks and functions, relying on human labour to drive efficiency. In the era of AI, this approach is no longer effective.

In this CEO-level session, Sharon Gai explores the shift from operational management to strategic leadership. Successful leaders in an AI-driven environment design systems, manage digital labour at scale, and direct human talent to areas where AI cannot contribute, such as judgment, taste, strategy, and trust. As labour is no longer the primary constraint, leadership must address fundamentally new challenges.

Drawing on her experience advising Fortune 500 boards, briefing heads of state, and working at Alibaba, Sharon guides senior leaders through the latest AI developments, including autonomous agents, multi-agent systems, and enterprise copilots. She challenges organisations to define effective leadership in this new context.

* Transitioning from task-based to capability-based, AI-enabled structures and the implications for senior leadership today.

* A framework for determining which roles to automate, augment, or elevate, and guidance on redesigning reporting lines.

* An overview of the current state of AI in enterprise, including frontier models, autonomous agents, and multi-agent systems, explained for leaders rather than technologists.
